Alfred Dallaire Memoria | 75 years of history
Our founder, Alfred Dallaire, was born in 1893, in Saint-Narcisse-de-Beaurivage. He started out as a barber, then worked as a cobbler and taxi driver in the Hochelaga district of Montréal. In 1931, a penniless young Ukrainian woman was killed by a train. When no funeral director wanted to provide space for a viewing, Alfred and his wife, Aline, transformed their barber shop into a funeral parlour. Four generations later, Memoria continues to serve families with compassion and creativity.
