M. Dayal Patel

Patel, Dayal – Peacefully passed away on September 6, 2020 at the Sacre-Coeur Hospital in Montreal with his family by his side. Dayal, aka DP, was born on December 27, 1933 in Navsari, India. In 1969, he emigrated to Canada with $8 in his pocket and became a pioneer for the Gujarati-Indian community in Montreal. He is survived by his six children: Vaijantiben, Ashaben, Lilaben, Kailash, Dilip, and Jayshriben. Dayal is lovingly known as ‘Dadu’ by his 16 grandchildren: Devanshi, Vibhuti, Dipendra, Vilashi, Sonny, Swati, Sneha (Janki), Mitul, Swayam, Aleesha, Kishan, Tejal, Manisha, Anysha, Shaan, and Jaya; and four great-grandchildren: Leyla, Maya, Jasmine, and Ellania. He carried himself with great strength, pride, and a profound love for his family. His unmatched bravery was a reflection of his love for the strong characters of the Mahabharat. His teachings will carry on through his beloved children and their families for generations to come.

The family will receive condolences at 9AM to 11AM.
