M. Gerardo Zaccardo

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gerardo “Gerry” Zaccardo in Laval on August 15th, 2024, after a courageous and prolonged battle with cancer. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gerardo was born in Muro Lucano, Italy, and emigrated to the Canada in 1957. He was the beloved son of the late Caterina Di Muro and Salvatore Zaccardo, who instilled in him the importance of family, hard work, and determination.

Gerardo was the devoted father of Fabian and Darian, both of whom he loved dearly. Gerardo was also the cherished grandfather to Tessa, Emily, Sienna, Victor, and Bella. His grandchildren brought happiness into his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Gerardo was the dear brother of Angelo, Maria, Donatella, Felicia, and the late Vito and Antonio Zaccardo. “Uncle Gerry” was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He was a source of love, strength and support to his family throughout his life.

Gerardo's life was marked by his strength, resilience, and dedication to his family. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained an inspiration to those around him. He had an ability to make his family laugh, even in the toughest times, and his humor brought comfort and joy to those he loved. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

The viewing and service will be held at Mausolée Saint-Martin, building at the rear of the Espaces MEMORIA Complex in Laval, located at 2159 St-Martin Blvd East, Laval on Friday August 23^rd from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at which moment a religious ceremony will be held.
