Mrs. Maria Giannantonio D’Onofrio passed away in Montreal on August 28, 2020, at the age of 92.
She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 69 years, Mr. Nicola D’Onofrio, her cherished sons: Guglielmo or William (Krystin Teoli and her son David), Lorenzo (Maria Castelli) and Antonello or Tony, her worshipped grandchildren: Nello (Nancy), Nicholas (Stephanie), Anita (Mathieu), Matteo (Jessica), Nikita (Charles) and Lucas, plus her adored great grandchildren: Giulia, Aiden, Gabriela and Emilia.
Born in Limosano (Molise), Italy, Maria Giannantonio immigrated to Canada in 1959 with her husband and 3 young boys to start a new life. She left behind her brother Giuseppe, but joined her mother Olga, sisters Giuseppina and Ines, plus her brother Tonino.
She had a full life here in Montreal with all the complexities of immigration. She was a devoted catholic and was loved by everyone, aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces and many, many friends.
She will be in our hearts as an inspiration forever. Love you mamma !
