M. Allen Milette

Our beloved father and grandfather Allen Milette of St-Leonard, Qc, was called home to be with his Saviour on the morning of December 24, 2019 at the age of 92. There he was reunited for Christmas with his loving wife of 67 years Margaret Milette (nee Kralik) who preceded him in death in November 2018.

Left to mourn but also rejoice over his long life and legacy of love and faith are his children Michael (Evelyn Piepenburg) of Ottawa, Robert (Graciela Escalante) of Montreal and David (Doris Dalke) of Moncton. He will be lovingly remembered always by his grandchildren Marina (fiancé Ted Morin), Megan, Benjamin, Rachel, Jonah, Gabriel, Isabel and Christopher, sister-in-law Suzanna Nagy, many nieces and nephews and his church family at Ascension Lutheran Church, where he served for many years as member of Church Council, as Elder, and supported every endeavour to share God’s love in Christ with members and neighbours near and far away. He was predeceased by his mother Carmen Bernard and grandmother Anne-Marie Bernard.

Allen was born and lived his entire life on the Island of Montreal. He met his beloved Margaret on a ski hill toward the end of his service in the Black Watch, and after their wedding he completed advanced education at Montreal Technical School. For over 35 years they owned and operated Avenue Radio TV Service together. Always believing that life is a gift meant to be lived to the fullest, Allen and Margaret experienced and enjoyed many milestone events together like Expo ’67 and the ’76 Olympics, travel throughout Europe, their beloved country place in Ste-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson, trips to Florida and to see their grandchildren.

Allen’s decision to take his sons and their friends from Montreal 33rd Venturers on an epic, cross-country journey to the 1981 Canadian Scouting Jamboree in Kananaskis Country, Alberta - just one among the many adventures he was always eager to embark on - resulted in lifelong cherished memories for many. Thank you Papo for your love and devotion to us.

Visitation will be held Monday December 30th, 1-4 pm and 6-9:30 pm, at Alfred Dallaire, 3254 Bellechasse (corner St-Michel), with brief Scripture reading and prayers at 7:30 pm. The funeral service for Mr. Milette will be held Tuesday December 31st at 9 am at Ascension Lutheran Church, 855 Jarry ouest (corner Outremont) with Pastor  David Somers officiating, with committal service at Mount Royal Cemetery at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church.
