M. Myron Bachynsky

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Myron Bachynsky.  He passed away peacefully at home, in his sleep, on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 at the age of 90.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jaroslawa (nee Stefaniuk), his two daughters Romana and Natalka and his son Andrej. Youngest of five siblings (Urko, Lida, Marta, and Jarema), he will be deeply missed by his surviving older sister Lida, his cousins, and all extended family and friends.
Born in Cherche, Rohatyn in Ukraine, he emigrated to Canada from Germany in November of 1948. Over 28 years of service with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation was followed by an equally long retirement during which he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Alfred Dallaire Memoria at 3254 Bellechasse, Montreal.  Visitations will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.  Panachyda will be at 7:30 p.m.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6185 10th avenue (corner Bellechasse), followed by interment at Notre-Dames-des-Neiges Cemetery, 4601 Côte-des-Neiges.
