Mrs. Amélia SR Burke

Sister Amelia died peacefully on  August 3, 2018. She was the daughter of the late John Anthony Burke and Mary Teresa Cozzolino. Amelia was predeceased by her brother John and sisters Gertrude (McNamee), Regina, RGS, Patricia, CND and Dorothy. Besides her CND family, she leaves to mourn her many loving nieces, nephews and good friends.

Amelia entered the Congregation Of Notre Dame in 1939 and spent over 30 years teaching in Montreal area schools. She continued her dedicated ministry in community service at Notre Dame, Ottawa and in volunteer ministry with Serenity Renewal for Families. Her latter years were spent in Pierrefonds, Ste- Adele and at Bon-Secours Residence  where she died.

Amelia’s wake will be held at the Salle Marguerite Bourgeoys, 5017 Notre-Dame-de-Grace Ave., Montreal, on Monday, August 6, ,from 2:30-4:30 pm with a prayer vigil at 3:00 pm.  A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Monica Parish 6405 Terrebonne Ave., on Tuesday, August 7, at 10:30 am, with burial in Côte des Neiges Cemetery.
