Mrs. Antonietta Grande

1926 - 2020

On Friday, April 3, 2020, Antonietta Giuseppina Grande passed away at age 93. Antonietta was born April 25, 1926 in Penne, Pescara, Italy.

She left Penne in 1953 to begin a new life in Montreal with her husband Antonio Grande (passed away September 29, 2010). She is survived by her son Dino Santino (Joan Tanguay), her grandchildren Emma Josephine (Patrick Smith), Laura Gene (Daniel Cleveland), Olivia Gabriele and Sara Grace, her great-grandchildren Oliver Michael (Cleveland), and Alexandre Raymond Grande (Smith). She also leaves to mourn several nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy as well as many other relatives and friends.

Antonietta was a kind, caring woman who loved spending quality time with her family and friends. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, cooking, and going to the beach. She liked preparing meals for family and friends and often hosted large family holiday gatherings. There was always a sense of togetherness and love in her home. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always welcomed family and friends into her home and was never short on words of wisdom. No matter what obstacles she faced in her life, she always came out stronger — she was a fighter. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Due to the constraints surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic a private burial will take place at the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
