Tony Massarelli born December 30, 1933 (Montreal), died suddenly July 21, 2020 (Saint Leonard) at age 86.

Married Rubbina (Ruby) DiStaulo (July 1, 1955), the love of his life. They had 65 happy years and raised 4 children together. Their mutual caring was wonderful to behold.

He will be missed beyond measure, by his surviving loving wife Ruby, children: Elizabeth (Ross), Lewis (Lydia), Mark (Andrea), Tim (Tania), grandchildren: Vanessa, Justin, Alex, Rena, Sara, Julyen, Jonathan, Lia, Islay, great-grandchildren: Pete, Olyver, Lael. He will also be sorely missed by his surviving siblings: Frank-deceased (Judy), Mary (Nick) Greco, John (Fernande), Armand (Claudette), Paul-deceased (Evelyn), Peter (Anna), as well as, a multitude of extended family and so many dear friends.

After training in Montreal Technical School, he forged a career at Canadian Marconi Company using his inventiveness to problem solve and design components for aircraft. For work, he traveled in the Arctic and Newfoundland&Labrador. He taught in CEGEP, marketed the first "French Fry Vending Machine," sold micro components, managed a bookstore, and was a caring landlord and brother-in-law. He served on the Board of Directors of The Marconi Credit Union, Marconi Veteran's Association, Le Foyer Laurentien Seniors Home, and the Fabre Street Pentecostal Church, where he also played organ. During the COVID lockdown at Les Jardins D'Italie, he was seen playing his accordion from his front door for the residents of the seventh floor.

Tony will be remembered as a man who was always available for those in his family and his community; he was there to listen, encourage, fix anything, or bring you somewhere, and he did it all without hesitation and without expecting anything in return.

Restricted public visitation 7-9pm July 29; private family funeral 11am July 30. See below for location and live video feed of funeral.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Tony’s honour can be made to one of the following charities:
