On Thursday, May 11, 2023 died in Montréal, at the age of 100, Eugen Eni Han Caraghiaur, a prominent member of the Romanian diaspora, businessman, politician, prolific writer, founding member of the Romanian Orthodox Church of Saint John the Baptist , and Grand Han of the Royal Couman House of Panciu.
He was predeceased by his son Stefan (2005) and his wife (2003) Aurora Cabba.
A devoted and loving father, he is survived by his children Josefina (Roger Ferland), George (Dawn Allen), his caregiver and grandson Gabriel Jibril, his grandchildren Philippe (Monique), Patrick, and Isabelle (Marc-Philippe Lambert Tremblay), his great grandchildren Jean-Pierre, Émile, Jean Luc, and Elena as well as other relatives and friends.
The family welcomes you to pay your respects at the Memoria funeral complex, 2159 Boulevard St Martin, Laval, on May 17 from 5pm to 9pm. A religious celebration will take place at 8pm. The funeral procession will leave the complex on Thursday, May 18 at 10:30 am and head to the Mont Royal cemetery, where the burial will take place.
