Mrs. Francika Rukavina

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our  beloved Francika Rukavina 1932-2023 who passed away on July 2,2023 at the age of 90 at the Montreal General Hospital.  Her sweet loving heart just released her of her pain.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Dusan Petrovic, her parents Marija Poljak, her father Nikola Rukavina (Bos Dubica /  Perusic, Lika) sister Anka, brothers Ivan and Anton. She leaves to mourn her son Mladen Petrovic (Evelyn Jabbia) daughter Visnja de Melo ( Jose Leonildo) her beautiful grandchildren Christopher de Melo (Vanessa Meech) Stefanie de Melo (Sami Baliki) Jennifer de Melo  (Jordan Roherty)  and her great grandchildren Ellie, Arden, Avery and Zayn. She leaves family in Croatia, nephew Ivica Rukavina his son Nikola, Divna and her sons Hrvoj and Darko Potlacek as well as other nephews and nieces in Croatia (Denise, Lydia, Drazan, Nena their spouses and children) and Elena Banducci (Giorgio and sons Claudio and Marrko of Savona,Italy) and her beautiful friend of 50 years Fatima Arujo. Their daily chats, how they cared for each other and how they understood each other was amazing-language was no barrier.  Mama's enormous personality, wealth of selflessness, bravery, her knowledge, humor, and storytelling (her memories were endless) and her beautiful loving smile will be missed by all who knew her for she was everyone's Babi ! Blue eyes, rosy cheeks, our fathers Ruzica, the world will be less bright without you our dear mama.
