Helen was known for her beautiful Ukrainian Korovais (ornamental yeast breads) which frequently graced the tables at banquets, weddings, anniversaries, births and deaths as well as used to greet, in the Ukrainian tradition, visiting clergy and dignitaries to the parish. Her welcoming and friendly demeanor as well as her engaging smile endeared her not only to family but to friends and strangers.
