Mrs. Janet Pasternak (née Davies)

Born in 1937 in Cheltenham England to a big family headed by her “nanny Beaven”, mum attended college, acted in plays, and worked at Dowty Rotors where she met our dad Steve Pasternak.

 

In 1957 they came to Canada, raised a family in Brossard and mum re-launched her office career, achieving a management certificate from McGill University and eventually becoming Manager of HR at the FBDB (now BDC) head office in Montreal.

 

Mum was also a talented singer, lending her beautiful mezzo-soprano voice to a number of Ukrainian choirs.

 

She was very active in Ukrainian organizations such as the Women’s Auxiliary at SUM and the Ukrainian Canadian Business and Professional Association.

 

Pre-deceased by Steve, mum’s passing is mourned by her children Michael (Lily), Zenon (Andrea) and Sonia (Reg), grandchildren Avery, Lia, Vincent and Claire, her sisters Pearl and Marlene in England, and friends and family in Montreal, Toronto and the USA.

 

Special thanks to the caring doctors and staff at Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland who provided mum with the care she needed (we all needed!) in her final days on this earth.
