Mr. Joseph Rouleau C.C., G.O.Q., O.A.L.F., D.h.c.

On Friday July 12th, in Montréal, surrounded by his family, Joseph Rouleau passed away in his ninetieth year.

Internationally renowned bass, Joseph Rouleau was a major contributor to the development of classical music in Canada.  He was both a professor and a major influence at UQAM, before becoming President of Jeunesses Musicales Canada, a position he held for twenty five years. 

Beloved husband of Jill Renée Morreau, father of Diane (Delbert Lee), Jessica (Bob Liao) and Marc (Julie Bourgoin), grandfather of Heather, Justin, Garrett, Remington, Dylan, Benjamin, Noah, Zoe and Pénélope, great-grandfather of Kate, Ryan, Foster and Reece, his sisters Jacqueline and Bertrande, his sisters-in-law Thérèse and Jocelyne, his many nephews and nieces, as well as many friends and colleagues.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jean Buithieu and the medical staff of the Royal Victoria Hospital for their excellent care.

A funeral service will be held at the Église St-Viateur (1175, Av. Laurier Ouest,  Outremont, Qc.) on Tuesday, August 13th at 1pm. (Doors of Church to open at 12pm - Registry book available at the church's entrance)
