Is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of?Kevin Douglas Weir at age 71.
Born September 29, 1951 passed away May 1, 2023. Predeceased by his parents Marion Joyce Weir (2021) and Brett Weir (2003). Survived by his children Ange Aimee Fournier-Weir, Beline Fournier and Bob Fournier and wife Marla Laurent and grandchildren Tyler and Inaïa, the mother his children Monique Fournier, his two brothers Cameron and Clinton who will miss him dearly.
Kevin in his youth, loved sports competing in organized baseball, football, hockey and track and field. He also coached baseball for a period. He pursued literature, being a voracious?reader and writer. He was a journalist?for an independent tabloid in London Ontario and was the editor of FLORACOLORE (1978). He was passionate about music especially in the folk tradition where he cultivated his persona Harry Tweed and wrote and performed as a singer songwriter in London and in Windsor at Windsor Folk. His songs could be characterized as satirizing everyday life with an amusing play on words and lighthearted phrases reflecting mixed metaphor.
Kevin loved the arts, attending concerts and being a yearly subscriber to the University of Players of Windsor for some time. He traveled many times by train to Montreal to visit his children. A lover of walking in nature, he explored several urban green parks with his children and passed on his knowledge of flora to them. This sensitive man with a remarkable sense of humor will forever remain in our hearts
