Very Rev. Fr. Roman Lubomyr Lahola, priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church for thirty-nine years, was called to Eternal Life at St. Mary’s Hospital on June 3rd, 2020.

He leaves to mourn his Beloved wife Lubomyra, to whom he was lovingly married for 40 years. Son of deceased parents, Ivan & Kateryna; Brother to Myron, Lida and Bohdan. Leaves to mourn extended family and many faithful and steadfast friends, who sustained him with prayers and much encouragement during a difficult illness.

Special thanks to the Sunak-Ferguson and Hunger families, whose unwavering support and love was a gift from God.

A special thank you to the compassionate Doctors, Nurses, the Spiritual & Religious Care staff, namely Shannon Byrne and Bruno Synnott who accompanied me towards my saying my farewells and to all the caregivers,volunteers and all the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, where Fr. Roman was blessed/honoured to be Chaplain for almost 30 years.

Thanks to Sister Lawrencia SSMI for her constant prayers and presence and Fr. Ihor Oshchipko for regularly bringing me the Blessed Sacraments. Thanks to the individuals in our faith community and the many friends who supported Luba and myself throughout my cancer diagnosis.

Thanks to the Krutyholowa family for their thoughtfulness and caring ways.
Heartfelt thanks to Apostolic Administrator of the Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada, Bishop Bryan Bayda for officiating at the funeral service.

Thanks to my best life friends Michael Mihalisko and Fr. Don Bodnar for their constant support, laughter/distraction and friendship.

Funeral will take place at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church on Tuesday June 9, 2020 at 9:30am. Due to the pandemic COVID-19 funeral will be private but you can join us on our YouTube channel: ABVM Montreal.
