It is with deep sorrow that the family of Lora Martyn announces her peaceful passing on February 6th, 2019, surrounded by family.
Born 94 years ago in Heidelberg Germany, she met and then married Gregory, a Ukrainian tailor in 1947. Shortly after, Lora left her family and friends behind, and immigrated to Canada. The young couple overcame many life struggles in the new country. They raised five children, realizing her childhood dream to be a mother. She learned English and Ukrainian, was an avid reader, loved to listen to classical music especially to Mozart, and enjoyed baking and gardening. Lora was a genuine, appreciative, kind and nurturing lady.
May she rest in peace, and meet up again with all the family and friends who have preceded her.
Beloved wife of the late Gregory Martyn, Lora will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children Borys (Lydia), Roman, Susanna, Lora and Gregory (Colette); grandchildren Eric (Christina) and Andrea, and great grandchildren Sophie and Daniel.
