Church ASSUMPTION BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

6175, 10e AVE, MONTREAL

Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10am

On Sunday morning, September 24th, 2023, the sun came out to welcome the soul of Morris Samotis, who passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Lydia for 66 years, father of Linda (Jean) and Michael. Devoted grandfather of Christopher and Jennifer, brother-in-law of Bill (Rosie), uncle of Christina, Robert (Caroline), Clara, Amelia and Theo.

A graduate of McGill University, he worked as a chartered accountant for his entire career at Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) where he became a partner of the firm. Throughout his life, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, and spending family vacations by the ocean.

He was a family man who always put his loved-ones first and made time to be present for all the important moments of their lives. He never judged others, but always accepted them as who they were with love.

We are forever grateful for the generosity, compassion and love he has shown and taught us throughout the years, and we thank him dearly for everything.

He will always be remembered as a true gentleman.

We thank the dialysis unit of the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital for their care and compassion over the last four years. A very special thanks to the home palliative care team (Isabelle and Geneviève) of the CIUSSS de l'Est-de-l'Île-de-Montréal.

Visitation at les Espaces Memoria, 3254 rue de Bellechasse, Montreal, on Thursday, September 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Panachyda Service at 7:30 p.m., Service will be held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Bellechasse and 10th Avenue, on Friday, September 29 at 10 a.m. Burial at a later date at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Father Josaphat Jean Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
