lt is with great sadness that we announce the passing, at age 83, of Normand Durivage, beloved husband of 62 years of Thérèse Duguay, on January 16, 2018, at the Sacré-Coeur hospital, from a brief and devastating cancer.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children : Josée, François (Francyne), Marc (Jocelyne) and Monik (Daniel), his grandchildren : Arianne, Laure, Chloé, Sara-Éliane, Léa, Katherine, Alexandre, Ysabel, Vincent and Kim: his 10 great-grandchildren, his sisters Suzanne (Gary) and Yolande (Jean), as weil as numerous relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
An electrical contracter, founding president of Normand Durivage Ltée, an accomplished businessman at the head of his firm since 1959, he actively participated in major projects of his time of which, James Bay, Chisasibi as weil as numerous Montréal metro stations. An active member of the CMEQ from its onset, he was also involved in several organisations of which, Les Cagoulards Hunting and Fishing Club and the Quebec Association of Bush Pilots.
A determined and righteous man of integrity, qualities inherited from his days as an amateur boxer, made him a weil respected and appreciated businessman. As an avid hunter and fisherman, obtaining his pilots' license in 1976 afforded him the opportunity to fully enjoy his passions at the contrais of his Piper Super Cub for almost 40 years.
A loving and beloved father, Normand was fair and generous to the family. His upbeat mood, sense of humour and warm heart will be greatly missed.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dre Anne Bhéreur and the caring staff of the hospital's palliative care. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sacré-Coeur Hospital Foundation (palliative care) in memory of Normand Durivage would be greatly appreciated.
