Surrounded by her loved ones, Nycole Paquin passed away in Montreal on May 3rd 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born in Sherbrooke in 1941 of Louis-André Paquin and  Lucille Marie Marguerite Nadon, Spouse of Jean-Eugène Carrière Eng., mother of Lynn Carrière, Jean-André Carrière (Asuka Sugiyama) and Stéphane Carrière OAQ, OAA. (Cynthia Pratt) and grand-mother of Mark Carrière-DeDavide.

Graduate of the Université de Montréal, (B.A.) and the Université du Québec à Montréal (M.A. PH.D) and Associate Professor at UQAM, she directed the Art History department. In addition to being exhibition commissioner, she is the author of many essays including Le corps juge - Sciences de la cognition et esthétique des arts visuels. She collaborated on many publications, monographies, catalogues and magazines, namely Espace Magazine as member of the editorial board and co-author of the Dictionnaire de la sculpture au Québec au XXe siècle.

Visitations shall be held on May 10 as of 6:00 p.m. at Alfred Dallaire Memoria funeral home 1111, Laurier Ave West, Outremont. (Valet parking). An intimate celebration shall be held Saturday, May 11 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the same location.
