Mr. Orest Mytko

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Orest Mytko, beloved husband of Lesia (Tomasztczuk), proud father of Yuri (Johanne), and Peter (Kaori), and cherished grandfather of Thomas and James. He is survived by his sister Irene (Danny) and was preceded in death by his brother Maurice (Wanda). He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Daria (Orest) and his nephews Michael (Robin) and Paul.

Orest was born in Germany in 1946 and grew up in Montreal where he raised his family, who he valued above all else. He was a gifted athlete who excelled at soccer, hockey, and baseball in his youth. An avid golfer, he aced two holes-in-one over his many years on the course. Orest was an active member in his community and was a director of the Caisse populaire Desjardins Ukrainienne de Montréal until the time of his passing.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm (Panachyda at 7:30pm) at Les espaces MEMORIA, 3254 Rue de Bellechasse in Montreal, and a funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, October 20 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 6175 10th Ave, Montreal. The burial will take place at a later date.
