With great sadness, the family of Pina Di Miele (née Giorgio) announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer. She died on January 10, 2022, surrounded by her closest loved ones.

Pina was born in Montreal to Italian immigrants Salvatore and Maria Giorgio (née Grasso). From an early age, she dutifully assisted in integrating her parents and younger brother, Nick, into a modest life in Canada. At 16, she met her life-long partner, Gabriel, whom she married at 22. Gabriel and Pina's devotion to each other formed an everlasting bond. Together, their relationship served as a model example of love and commitment. Pina's dedication to her family continued with the birth of her sons James and David. A loving, nurturing, and supportive mother, Pina was the bedrock of this tightly knit family. A career woman for 30 years, Pina's professional responsibilities permitted her husband to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions and her sons to have an uncompromised upbringing. In retirement, Pina indulged her passions and intellectual curiosity by traveling far and wide. Later, she extended her generosity by welcoming her daughter-in-law, Caroline, into her loving orbit. In the final stage of her life, Pina was an adoring Nonna to her grandchildren, Jack and Grace. Despite being tragically cut short, her time as a grandmother brought her immense joy and was her ultimate achievement.

Pina was a beautiful and proud woman who exhibited elegance and class in all facets of life. She was an avid reader with a romantic affection for the gilded age and the British monarchy. With a laugh that could fill a room, a biting sense of humor, an unmistakable sense of style, Pina was full of life. Her charisma left an indelible impression on anyone who ever met her. She was a calming force and confidant to those who had the privilege of calling her a friend. Pina will be remembered by those who knew her as a spirited friend, caring mentor, committed wife, proud Mom, and adoring Nonna.

Pina is survived by her husband Gabriel, her sons James (Caroline) and David, her mother Maria, her brother Nick and her grandchildren Jack and Grace.
