Mr. Robert John Miller

1940 - 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert John Hamilton Miller (John Miller) announces his passing on April 24th, at the age of 79 of Alzheimer's and coronavirus. John will be lovingly missed by his wife of 55 years, Linda, his three children and partners, Marc (Isabelle), André (Maria), and Catherine-Anne (Clayton) and his seven grandchildren, Caleb, Elliot, Quentin, Maya, Luka, Amélie and Julien. He is survived by three siblings, Bruce (Gael), Janet (Don) and Ruth (Stuart).

Raised in Toronto and an alumnus of the University of Toronto, John moved to Quebec City with Linda in 1969 where he devoted his life to learning, teaching, his family, and his faith in a loving God. He taught physics at CEGEP Champlain St-Lawrence and Biblical Greek and Hebrew at Institut Farel, where his exceptional teaching was appreciated. As an autodidact, his passions included history, languages, classical guitar, photography, travel, biking and astronomy.

He was a gentle, loving person who was always available to listen, encourage, and question.  In 2008, John and Linda moved to Montreal to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Arrangements will be made in the future for a celebration of his life. If you wish, a memorial contribution can be given to the Alzheimer’s Society of Montreal or a charity of your choice.
