The day after her 84th birthday passed away Sylvette Durand Jurtschyschyn, at Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal, on Tuesday July 23rd.
She leaves her husband Dmytro (Dominique) Jurtschyschyn after 61 years of mariage, her only son Pierre (Jury) Jurtschyschyn, his spouse Jocelyne Deschênes, and her grandchildren Charles-Olivier (and his fiancee Sophie Duhaime, their children Cédric, Léa and a baby on the way), Anne Laure and Èvelyne.
Daughter of Raoul Durand et Laurianne Robillard, she was born in Saint-Jean-de-Matha, in the Lanaudière region, before settling in Montreal in 1953. She was the second in a family of six : Yolande (Gilles Tanguay), then Marie-Marthe (Fernando Charron), Nicole (André Houle), Jacques-André (Pierrette Rondeau) and Alain (Manon Laferrière), as well as their children and grandchildren. She also leaves many friends along the way.
Woman of great generosity, she was noticed for her kindness and her simplicity. She worked over 30 years for Howick Jeans. In retirement, she became an avid philatelist, among other hobbies.

The funeral will be : Église Saint-André-Apôtre, 10503, Avenue de l'Esplanade, Montréal, on Monday, August 5th, at 11 am.
