Florence “Sito” Tweel (Tomy), at age 92 in Laval, on May 17th, 2019.

Sito, our beloved mother, lived her life with a positive attitude, a great sense of humour and a genuine appreciation for all things great and small.

A true Christian, Sito served her church for most of her years and God rewarded her with a long and full life.  She was one of 5 children, (Samil, Edna, Jeanette and Roger) who came from modest beginnings, so she knew how to make a dollar go a long way:  She cooked our meals and darned our socks.

She and her husband Frank were married for 40 years, until he died 30 years ago.  They built their legacy of 3 daughters, Leila (Corey Pike) who will greet our mom with open arms at her final destination, Linda (Mike Toney) and Elaine (Marco Sadori).  They were blessed with 9 grandchildren; Lisa, Kelly (Supriya Syal), Ryan, Jennifer, Kayla (Sean Murphy), Samantha, Nicole (James Winslow), Anita and Laura.  Five months ago, she became the very proud great grandmother to baby Indira.

Sito enjoyed cooking for others and with others, as she so proudly would teach and share her cooking secrets.

Her many nieces and nephews took special care of her and they each held a special place in her heart.

So many of our friends and family fondly referred to her as Sito, and many were surprised to eventually learn that Sito was not her real name.

We are so proud of her strength and determination that have gotten her through so many health challenges over the years.  She was a fighter, religiously taking her pills and seeing her doctors on a regular basis.

Our heartfelt thanks to her ‘family' at the Residence Saint Moritz, her home for the past 11 years.

We are at a loss for words to the many wonderful staff at Cite de la Sante Hospital.  Frequently, over the past 7 years, she was taken to emergency, for one reason or another.   We thank the doctors, nurses, orderlies, volunteers, technicians and most recently the kind staff in the palliative care unit.  They saw her through her most difficult days with compassion, kindness and the most gentle hands.

Sito, it is time to sleep with the angels.

While flowers are beautiful, donations change lives.  We ask that you consider donating to the Hopital Cité de la Santé, her home away from home.
