Fernande Martin died in Montreal on February 10, 2017. She was the wife of Pierre Juneau, deceased. She leaves behind her children André (Laura Chapman), Martin (Lucie Lamarre) and Isabelle (Claude Joli-Cœur), her grandchidlren Matthieu and Thomas (Marie-Hélène Chayer) Juneau, and their mother Lucie Lahaie, Emilie and Stéphanie Juneau and their mother Sylvie Maillette, François, Annie Guo, Emmanuelle and Rose Joli-Cœur, and two great-grandsons, Rémi and Philippe Juneau. She was the sister of Suzanne, deceased, Denise, deceased (Francis), Yves (Louise), Geneviève, Françoise, Louis, deceased (Hélène), Luc (Louise) and Hélène, deceased (Michel). She also leaves her sister-in-law Rollande and her brother-in-law Leonard as well as many nieces and nephews.

She loved her husband, her children and her granchildren unconditionally and she supported them unfailingly. She felt very lucky that she was close to all her gandhildren while they were growing up and she was endlessly fascinated by the « finesses » of her great-grandsons.

In 1966, she participated in the creation of the Fédération des femmes du Québec. Returning to school, she received a bachelor of arts degree with a major in history from the University of Ottawa in 1975. In 1982, she was involved in the creation of the Fondation Thérèse F. Casgrain where she served as its secretary.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home Alfred Dallaire Memoria, 1111 Laurier Street West in Outremont from 4 :00 p.m. to 9 :00 p.m. on Friday February 17. A mass will be held on Saturday February 18 at 10 :00 a.m. at Eglise St-Viateur d’Outremont.

The family would like to thank Doctors Rainville, Schwenter and Delisle at l’Hôpital Hotel-Dieu and Doctor Baillargeon and the exceptional staff of the palliative care unit at l’Hôpital  Notre-Dame.
