Mme Gertrude Dudka (nee Baer)

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Gertrude Dudka (nee Baer) age 94 this past December 15th. Her son Victor and daughter Elizabeth, and her husband Norm, as well as many relatives in Germany survive her. She is predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years Gregory.

After surviving war-torn Germany, she arrived in Canada where she met her future husband Gregory in Montreal. She was an avid quilter and cook with a great fondness for animals and possessed an out-going personality that endeared her to her many friends in St-Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church where she frequently volunteered in the kitchen and where her husband participated in the construction of the new building during the early 1960s.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday January 3rd between 5 and 9 pm at Les Espaces Memoria at 3254 rue Bellechasse in Montreal. The funeral service will take place on Thursday January 4th at St-Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 11:30 am followed by internment at cemetery Notre-Dame des Neiges.
