Mme Helen Lancheres née Postojenko

On May 9th, 2021, at 91 years of age, Helen Lancheres nee Postojenko, our beloved Mama, Baba, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully of natural causes surrounded by family at the Lakeshore General Hospital after the briefest of stays.

She was a wonderful person, courageous, resourceful, and kind to everyone. A very intelligent woman who came to Canada after the Second World War, she taught herself English with her children's school books. She had an inquisitive mind and she loved classical music, ballet, and reading. She was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be sorely missed.

She leaves behind her two sons, Vladimir (Marthe) and George (Joanne), her two grandsons, Eric and Philippe, her dear sister, Marussia, her two nieces, Olga and Tanya, and a great-niece, Maggie.

The family living in the Montreal area will assemble at the Alfred Dallaire Memoria, 3254 Bellechasse, Montreal, on Monday, May 17, from 4 to 7 pm. There will be a Panachyda Service at 6 pm. All safety precautions will be respected. Anyone wishing or able to attend is welcome. A funeral service will be held at St-Sophie's Cathedral, 6255 Boulevard Saint-Michel, Montreal, on Tuesday, May 18, at 9:30 am followed by a burial at Mount-Royal Cemetery.
