Mme Maria Manuela Freixo Fernandes

It is with great sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Maria Manuela Fernandes who passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024 at the age of 88 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Manuela (Vince) and Teresa (Mario); her grandchildren, Michael (Colleen), Lauren, Nicolas, Christopher; and great-granddaughter Cassidy; as well as many other family members in Canada and Portugal. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Antonio Fernandes.

Her kindness, courage, strength, selflessness and her unwavering faith and love for her family will always be inspirational to the many lives she touched.

The family wishes to thank the caring and respectful caregivers on the 3rd floor at Bayview Residence for their compassionate care over the last 3 years and in her final days. Special thanks to her devoted caregiver Phylis for accompanying her and enabling Maria to live her last years with grace and dignity.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, including a prayer service at 7:30 pm, at LES ESPACES MEMORIA, located at 1120, rue Jean-Talon Est, Montreal. The funeral and burial will be held in Portugal, at a later date.
