Nancy Kwan
In Montreal, QC, left us on Wednesday June 8th, 2022 at the age of 53.

Nancy’s family is saddened to share the news that her beautiful light has been dimmed. With great dignity and grace, Nancy fought bravely to overcome her health battle. She was an inspiration by maintaining her passion for life and her empathy for others throughout her struggle. We are relieved that she will now enjoy the tranquility that she so deserves.

Nancy leaves behind loving husband Peter Gonçalves and the joy of their lives, daughter Jasmine. The close-knit Kwan family who are spread across the globe, mourn her loss.  She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Kim Oi Tse and the late Mr. Sui Chin Kwan. She leaves behind siblings Betty, Patrick, Richard, Jacob, Ian and Anna who provided her with heroic care and companionship during Nancy’s last months. Thank you dearest Anna.

As a result of growing up in Fiji, Nancy brought a natural ray of sunlight to all those around her. She was known for loving life and she made everyone happier. We are all better people because of her unwavering moral compass. She will be missed by her family, her many friends, her soccer buddies and by her McGill colleagues.

Her family will always be indebted to the many doctors and health care staff at the MUHC Cedar’s Cancer Centre. This debt will be impossible to repay but that is the nature and the dedication of our health care professionals. Thank you.

What Nancy would have wanted, is for you to donate to two very important causes in her memory. These charities take care of our local community and need our support.

The family will receive condolences at the Alfred Dallaire MEMORIA complex located at 1111 Laurier Ouest Street in Montreal, on Monday, June 13, 2022, between 3pm and 5pm and from 7pm to 9pm.  

Nancy's family will welcome you on Tuesday June 14th, 2022 starting at 1:30pm at the Outremont Chapel of the Mount Royal Cemetery Funeral Complex. This is our time to celebrate Nancy's life. A brief ceremony will commence at 2:30pm. A prossession will then be held for the inurnment of her ashes.
