It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Safulko on Friday June 10th, 2022 at the age of 88. With God’s grace he died peacefully, with pride and dignity.

Devoted husband of Zenovia (nee Foichuk) for 63 years. Proud and caring father of Karl (Karin), Stephen (Pascale), Sandra (Charles) and Daniel (Christie). Cherished grandfather of Christopher (Lydia), Zachary (Janka), Lia, Andrew (Jamie), Jacob, Kevin, Chloë, Elizabeth, Allyson, Jessica, Natasha, Samantha and Thomas. Adoring great-grandfather of Henry and Alma. Loving uncle to Julie Ann and John (Lucy) Barna. Predeceased by his sister Fanny and his beloved parents Jakim and Julia Safulko.

A Mechanical Engineer who graduated McGill University in 1955, he enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a Professional Engineer. Due in large measure to his aptitude for electrical, plumbing and drafting, he was the quintessential ‘do-it-yourselfer’ and celebrated every opportunity to share his skills with his children and grandchildren.

He had an insatiable interest in aircraft and aviation from childhood and worked at Canadair on the production of the F-86 Sabre jet in the late 50’s. Many a summer vacation was punctuated by a visit to a local airshow.

Sharing an unbridled passion with Zenovia for cruising the high seas, they traveled the world together.

He leaves a monumental hole in our hearts but also a lifetime of incredibly joyful memories. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike and will remain forever in our hearts.
