It is with great sadness, and with deep appreciation for being part of his wonderful life, that we announce the passing of Michel Allard on June 5, 2024.

Michel died of myelodysplasia, an aggressive cancer that set in gradually but advanced rapidly. Michel died at home, quietly and peacefully. We wish to thank the Verdun CLSC Palliative Care Team for their competence, care and compassion that brought so much serenity to the end of life.

Michel had a great love of life and was always interested in the people he met. With his distinctive wit, inspirational presence, and great heart, he made friends wherever he went. His sense of adventure and passion for helping create a better world led to a lifelong interest in service to others. Michel’s mentoring skills found a natural outlet in his career as an employee coach and consultant in companies across the board. Whether as a boss, or a mentor, he had a real impact on people, and was renowned for changing lives for the better.

Michel loved to travel, and found fulfillment in writing, photography, and art. Above all, he loved, and took pride in his children, his family, and his many friends and colleagues around the world. He will be deeply missed, and remembered always, by his spouse, Stephanie Colvey; his sons Jean-Simon Allard (Floriane Cortessis) and Louis-Philippe Allard; his grandchildren, Liam Allard, Rémi Allard, and Emily Allard; his brother Raymond Allard; his sisters-in-law Jennifer Allard and Yvonne Thijsen (late Daniel Allard); his brother-in-law, Jean-Claude Joyeux (late Lorraine Allard); Carlo Pavan and his nieces and nephews.

Michel will be remembered for his true interest in people, his “grande écoute,” and his wonderful sense of humour—which he had right till the end.

Please join us for a Celebration of Michel’s life on Friday, June 21 at Memoria Funeral Home, 1120, rue Jean-Talon Est, Montréal, H2R 1V9 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eulogy will be presented at 7 p.m.

In memory of Michel, and in lieu of flowers, please bring a special smile and a small act of kindness and generosity to someone you know who is lonely or less fortunate.
