It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Albert Mitchell (born February 24, 1928) on July 9th, 2023, at Pierre-Le Gardeur Hospital in Terrebonne, Quebec. A special thanks goes out to the staff that cared for him.
Friends and family loved Albert during his time on earth. His presence brought warmth, love, and laughter to those who knew him. He was a lifelong aviation enthusiast, British sports car buff and a devoted pipe smoker till the end. Witty, erudite, yet down to earth and perfectly bilingual, he was approachable and an engaging conversationalist. The memories of him will be cherished forever.
Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Mary (Veillette), his loving children, Gail and Grant Mitchell and his grandchildren, Bianca and Samer Assi. A special mention goes out to longtime family friend Dave Aube and his family.
May he rest in peace and soar the skies for eternity.
A memorial gathering will be held at Alfred Dallaire Memoria (438 Rue Notre-Dame, Repentigny, Quebec, J6A 2T4) on Saturday, July 29th, 2023, from 10 am to 4 pm.
