Mrs. Anne-Marie Simard

Our Anne-Marie has been dealing with a late stage cancer diagnostic for almost 3 years, and on Tuesday January 16th at 17h15, she passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.

It is consoling to know that she rode into the sunset of life without pain and that she was supported by her loved ones during her last days. Her last moments were filled with love, light and humour, as Anne-Marie would never have had it any other way.

I know life without her will not be easy, for anyone close to her. I will miss her laughs, her no nonsense way of living life, always ready for the next adventure and her daily support. I also know that life will not be easy for her daughter Lauriane, but definitely she raised a strong independent woman whom I know will live her life through this cloud of grey.

Anne-Marie is survived by her daughter Lauriane, mother Claudette Simard (late Marius Simard), partner Dominique Bélanger, her step-sons Étienne and Julien Bélanger, as well as her brother David (Mélanie Jetté, Éléonore et Arnaud). Of course, many members of her family and friends are saddened by her too early departure.

Following her wishes, a celebration of life will be held at Espace Memoria, 1120, Jean-Talon street East, Montreal (QC), H2R 1V9 (corner Christophe-Colomb). Reserved parking is available across Christophe-Colomb street. The family will received condolences on Friday February 23rd between 3pm and 9pm and Saturday February 24th between 10am and 6pm. If and when possible, the family requests that colleagues favour the Friday, while friends and family favour Saturday.

A short ceremony will be held for the family and friends at the same location on Saturday February 24th at 4pm. A burial ceremony will be held at a later date.
