The funeral will take place:
Jose Maria Bairos of Cote St Luc, Quebec, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022, at the age of 93 at the CHSLD St. Henri nursing home.
Jose Maria will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Lourdes (Francisco Almeida), Connie (Anibal Neves), Helena (predeceased Nic Baldino), Antonio (Anna D’Aguanno), (Irit Antebi), grandchildren Vanessa, Tristan, Jonathan, Justin, Daniel, Julia, Matthew, Michelle and great-grandson Marcus.
He is now reunited in heaven with his wife Maria Claudia Amaral and his son Jose Armando Bairos.
Jose Maria was born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal on May 2, 1929, the second youngest of eight children of the late Joao de Bairos and Ana da Luz Chaves. He was raised and married in Santa Maria and immigrated to Montreal, Quebec, Canada in May 1963.
Visitation will take place at the Alfred Dallaire Memoria Funeral Home, 3254 Rue de Bellechasse, Montreal, on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm and Friday, May 27 from 8:30am to 10:00am.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00am at Santa Cruz Church, 60 Rachel St. W., Montreal. Burial to follow at Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery, 4601 Ch. De la Cote des Neiges, Montreal.
A reception will follow at Alfred Dallaire Memoria Funeral Home, 3254 Rue de Bellechasse, Montreal.
