Lumina Desrosiers, devoted matriarch of 5 generations

It is with deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the death of Lumina Desrosiers, who passed away, on March 7, 2022, at 95 years. She died peacefully in Laval, Quebec, surrounded by family.

Lumina was born on March 4, 1927, in Charlo, New Brunswick, the daughter of Philippe Desrosiers et Malvina Bernard.

Lumina was a resilient, loving, and compassionate person who was a bright star in the world. Though life had presented hurdles along the way, she not only persevered but grew stronger from each one. Anyone who was fortunate to be part of her life knew that she loved them fiercely.

Lumina is predeceased by her husband Roland Vaillancourt and her partner Paul Marquis. Lumina is survived by her two daughters, Lise (Paul) and Diane, her grand-children, Clairissa, Melissa (Hugo) and Cynthia (Théo), and her great-grandchildren, Justin (Brittney and their children, Serenity and Roland), Olivia, Bianca, Jonathan, Jacob, Samuel and Charlotte. She also leaves behind friends and extended family.

Lumina will always be remembered for her strength of character, her generosity, her brilliance, her determination, and her undying devotion to her family. As well as her love for the arts, music, dance, books and last but not least, for her love of bingo.

A very special thanks for the first floor staff of the residence la Pinière for the exceptional good care given to Mme Desrosiers for the past 6 months.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 1 pm to 5 pm at Alfred Dallaire Memoria, at 2159 boul. Saint-Martin Est, Laval. A special ceremony with live feed will be starting at 4 pm on the same day.

The broadcasting of the funeral will be on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 4pm
