Mrs. Martha Zajac

Beloved wife of Stefan for 68 years, dearest mother of Olga-Talya and Rita died on December 30, 2017 at Santa Cabrini Hospital after a courageous battle with illness. Predeceased by her parents Yuri and Anna in Delijiw, Ukraine and her sister Paranka.  An expert cook and an avid gardener, Mama grew amazing cucumbers and tomatoes and enjoyed sharing her crops. She loved her family and friend and made sure that everyone kept in touch by making phone calls and by writing long detailed letters  to them in England, Ukraine, the States, and Canada. She always wanted to have the time to do embroidery again but her vision problems made that difficult. She liked to shovel snow. In recent years Mama enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching her flowers grow, praying, and observing the world. Mama worked hard all her life to care for the people she loved. She wanted the best for all of us. Mama knew there was evil in the world because she had suffered on account of it, but she also always had hope that God could move the hardest heart to do good if they were approached as fellow human beings. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts. We will always love and miss you, Mama. God be gentle with her. Mama loves you so much.
