Roger Trottier passed away peacefully at the Cité de la Santé hospital in Laval on Thursday September 21st 2017 in his 87th year of life.
Loving husband of 67 years of Madeleine (Petit). Beloved father of Nicole and her husband Bob Alo and Lise and her husband Carlos Gonzalez. Proud grandfather of Daniel Alo, Michelle Boyett, Rafael Gonzalez and Natalya Gonzalez. Roger has 7 great grandchildren. Survived by his brother Marcel and Jean-Paul and predeceased his brother André.
Son of the late Albert and Laurette Trottier, Roger was born on June 13th, 1930. He was a man of many talents. At the age of 18 he built a house which still exists today in the city of Ste. Rose, Laval. He and his wife moved to California in the early 50`s where he became a restaurant manager leading him to open his own restaurant in 1965 known as Roger`s French Cuisine. After a weather event which destroyed the restaurant he and his wife were introduced to Shaklee, a direct selling business opportunity where they both have been very successful business leaders in the USA and in Canada for the past 50 years.
His hobbies were oil painting, miniature trains, and model ships and later in life took up wood sculpting where he has produced many pieces of art to leave to his family. He even built his own electric car.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 28th between 6pm and 8:30 pm at Alfred Dallaire Memoria 2159, boulevard St-Martin Est, Laval, QC H7E 4X6 Following the service the family invites attendees to join them upstairs for light refreshments ( coffee, tea, water, small sandwiches and pastries ) from 8:30 – 9:30pm.
Burial of the cremation urn will be held at 2pm at Ste Rose Cemetery, Laval on Friday, September 29th .
