Mrs. Xenia Humchack Samoluk

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Xenia Samoluk (nee Humchack) at the age of 89 on December 16, 2023. Loved and cherished by her children Judy and Michael (Laurie) and grandchildren Andrew and Nicholas (Darby). Xenia was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother (Baba) and a good friend to so many. Her kindness and caring will be forever missed by other family members and many dear friends from her second home in Vermont where she was a central part of so many lives. 

Xenia was born on June 30, 1934, the youngest of 10 children of the late Mary and Alexander Humchack and survived by her sister Victoria Issac.  She will be forever reunited with her beloved late husband and soul mate of 66 years, Tadeusz (Ted) Samoluk. She was a long-standing member of the Ukrainian Community, specifically Ste. Sophie’s Orthodox Cathedral in Montreal and worked many years as a volunteer at the Ukrainian Villa seniors residence.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Les esaces Memoria, 3254 Bellechasse, Montreal from 4.30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Panachyda/Service at 6:30 p.m.  Funeral Service at Ste. Sophie Ukranian Orthodos Cathedral on Thursday December 21 at 14:00 p.m.  Burial at the Mount-Royal Cemetery at 15:30 p.m.
